Questions, answered
Do I need to do anything to enter?
No. If HARKE places you into a role starting in Term 1 2027, you're automatically entered. We'll email you to confirm.
What counts as a Term 1 placement?
A role you secure through HARKE that starts in Term 1 2027. Your entry counts once you've completed 10 weeks in the role, or if you start later in the term, once you're still in the role at the end of Term 1.
Who can I refer?
Any teacher looking for a role starting in Term 1, as long as they're new to HARKE. They'll need to be placed by us for the referral to count.
Is there a limit on referrals?
No. Every teacher you refer that we place for Term 1 earns you another entry.
What if someone I referred wins?
They win $500, and you get a $500 gift card too.
Do I still get the $250 referral bonus?
Yes. On top of your draw entries, you'll receive our standard $250 referral bonus for every teacher we place, once they've worked 10 weeks in the role.
What can I spend the prize on?
Winners can choose a $500 voucher for a place of their choice, or a Visa gift card that can be used almost anywhere.
When is the draw?
In the April 2027 school holidays, once Term 1 placements have been confirmed. Winners will be contacted directly.
Can I refer someone outside my state?
Yes. Referrals from any state or territory count, and all role types are eligible, including permanent, contract, casual and relief roles.

Term 1 Prize Draw: Terms and Conditions
- Promoter. The promoter is HARKE Recruitment Pty Ltd (ABN 13 670 586 339) of Suite 8, 84 Wises Rd, Sunshine Coast QLD 4556 ("HARKE").
- Promotion period. The promotion starts on 20 October 2026 and ends on 9 April 2027 ("Promotion Period").
- Eligibility. Entry is open to Australian residents aged 18 or over. Employees of HARKE and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
- Placement entries. A teacher placed by HARKE into any role (permanent, contract, casual or relief) at a school in any Australian state or territory, with a start date in Term 1 2027, receives one entry. Entry is automatic. Term 1 dates are as set by the education department of the state or territory where the school is located.
- Qualifying placement. A placement qualifies once the teacher has completed 10 weeks in the role, or, where the teacher starts later in Term 1, is still in the role on the last day of Term 1.
- Referral entries. A person who refers a teacher to HARKE receives one entry for each referred teacher who is new to HARKE and completes a qualifying placement. Referrals must be sent to welcome@harke.com.au with the referred teacher's name, mobile and email. If more than one person refers the same teacher, the first referral received is the one that counts. There is no limit on referral entries.
- The draw. Three winning entries will be drawn at random from all valid entries at HARKE's office, Suite 8, 84 Wises Rd, Sunshine Coast QLD 4556, at 11:00am AEST on Wednesday 14 April 2027. Each person can win only one prize. If a person's entry is drawn a second time, that entry is set aside and another drawn.
- Prizes. Each winner receives a $500 voucher for a retailer of their choice (subject to availability) or a $500 Visa gift card. If a winner was referred to HARKE, the person who referred them also receives a $500 gift card. The total prize value is up to $3,000.
- Winner notification. Winners will be notified by phone and email within 5 business days of the draw. If a prize is not claimed within 30 days, a redraw will take place at the same location at 11:00am AEST on Friday 14 May 2027.
- Publication. By entering, winners agree to their first name, last initial and state being published on HARKE's website and social media.
- Prize conditions. Prizes are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Existing referral program. In addition to referral entries, a person who refers a teacher that HARKE places receives HARKE's standard $250 referral bonus once the referred teacher has worked 10 weeks in the role.
- Privacy. Personal information collected is used to administer this promotion and is handled in line with HARKE's Privacy Policy.
- Tax. Winners should seek independent advice on any tax implications of their prize.
- General. HARKE may verify the eligibility of any entry and disqualify entries that don't meet these terms. HARKE's decisions about the promotion are final. HARKE may change or cancel the promotion if circumstances beyond its control arise, subject to any applicable state laws.
