About the Position
An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced and passionate educator to join the College as Head of Year (Years 7–10).
This is a key pastoral leadership position responsible for overseeing the wellbeing, engagement and personal development of students within a year group. Working closely with students, families, teaching staff and the wider leadership team, the successful applicant will foster a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment while promoting high expectations for student growth and achievement.
This position is ideal for a teacher looking to take the next step into leadership or an experienced middle leader seeking to join a well-established and supportive school community.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Lead the pastoral care and wellbeing of students within the allocated year group.
- Build strong relationships with students, parents and staff.
- Support student behaviour, attendance and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with the College leadership team and classroom teachers.
- Promote student wellbeing, resilience and personal development.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of student wellbeing across the College.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate effectively with families.
Requirements
- Current NESA Teacher Accreditation or eligibility to obtain accreditation.
- Relevant secondary teaching qualifications.
- Demonstrated leadership or pastoral care experience is highly regarded.
- Excellent communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- A commitment to supporting the Christian values and ethos of the College.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Full working rights in Australia.
