About the Role

This full-time VCE Humanities Teacher position will commence in Term 1, 2027. The successful teacher will deliver VCE Legal Studies and/or Business Management , bringing strong subject knowledge, effective classroom practice and the ability to prepare senior students for positive VCE outcomes. The initial appointment is expected to be a 12-month fixed-term contract, with the intention of moving to an ongoing position following a successful year. An ongoing appointment may be considered from commencement for an exceptional candidate.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned VCE Legal Studies and/or Business Management programs.

  • Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.

  • Collaborate with Humanities colleagues to support curriculum planning, consistent teaching practice and positive VCE outcomes.

  • Contribute positively to the school's Islamic ethos, professional culture and broader school community.

Requirements

  • Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

  • Relevant secondary teaching qualifications with the ability to teach VCE Legal Studies and/or Business Management

  • Strong curriculum knowledge, classroom management and student engagement skills

  • As a genuine requirement of this position within the school's religious context, the successful candidate must be a practising Muslim

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
