About the Position
The College is seeking an experienced VCE Health and Human Development teacher who can also teach Physical Education , with particular interest in teachers who can demonstrate strong experience and outcomes with senior secondary students.
This is not simply a general HPE vacancy. HARKE will be specifically shortlisting teachers who can demonstrate VCE HHD teaching experience, knowledge of senior assessment requirements and evidence of student success/results . Experience teaching PE alongside HHD will strengthen an application.
The College is distinctly Christian, and alignment with its faith, values and ethos is an essential requirement rather than a preference. Christian faith is embedded throughout the College’s teaching, programs and community life.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality VCE Health and Human Development , alongside Physical Education classes.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of VCE curriculum, assessment and preparation of senior students for successful outcomes.
- Maintain clear expectations for student wellbeing, safeguarding, behaviour and pastoral care.
- Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues while contributing positively to the wider school community.
- Actively support and model the College’s Christian values, faith and educational ethos.
Who HARKE Will Shortlist
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
- VCE Health and Human Development teaching experience , including senior student outcomes/results.
- Experience teaching Physical Education .
- A genuine and active Christian faith aligned with the College’s Christian ethos.
- Confirmed current church attendance , including the name of the church attended.
- A confirmed pastoral referee who can speak to the applicant’s Christian faith and involvement.
- Clear alignment with the College’s values and approach to Christian education.

- Registration: Candidates must hold current VIT registration or be eligible to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
- Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential.
- Faith Requirements: Applicants must provide details of their current church, confirm alignment with the College’s Christian values and ethos, and provide a suitable pastoral referee.
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
