About the Role

The College is seeking a passionate and hands-on Systems Engineering teacher to deliver engaging Technology and STEM learning experiences across Years 8-12, including VCE Systems Engineering.

Students undertaking Systems Engineering are encouraged to identify real-world problems and develop creative engineering solutions through research, design and practical project development. The successful educator will support students to develop strong design thinking, technical capability and practical engineering skills through innovative classroom and workshop-based learning experiences.

This role would suit a teacher who enjoys practical teaching environments, emerging technologies and project-based learning while fostering creativity, critical thinking and strong student engagement.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Systems Engineering and Technology curriculum across Years 8-12
  • Teach VCE Systems Engineering programs contributing toward ATAR pathways
  • Support students in designing, developing and evaluating practical engineering solutions
  • Teach and support skills in CAD, coding, robotics, electronics and mechanical systems
  • Facilitate hands-on learning using tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters and digital technologies
  • Guide students through testing, troubleshooting and project evaluation processes
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and academically focused workshop environment
  • Contribute positively to the broader STEM and Technology faculty culture

Requirements

  • Current or eligibility for VIT registration
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Experience teaching Systems Engineering, Technology or STEM subjects preferred
  • Ability to support practical and project-based learning environments
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and positive learning culture
  • Two professional referees and completion of HARKE safeguarding onboarding
