About the School
HARKE has partnered with a boys’ secondary school in Melbourne’s south-east, educating approximately 1,000 students from Years 7–12. The school operates within a strong values-based framework, with a clear focus on pastoral care, relationships, and the development of young men both academically and personally.
This is a structured and supportive environment where wellbeing, character development, and student–teacher relationships are prioritised alongside academic outcomes. The school takes a tailored approach to boys’ education, with clear expectations around engagement, behaviour, and support. It is community-oriented and inclusive, appealing to educators who value consistency, connection, and a balanced approach to teaching and learning.
Sport is a highly visible and strategic pillar of the school. With strong resourcing, competitive interschool participation, and an established Sports Academy, the program is embedded within the school’s identity. Educators are expected to contribute not only to performance outcomes, but to the holistic development of students, including wellbeing, discipline, and personal growth.
About the Position
This position combines classroom teaching with leadership of a well-established Sports Academy program. The successful candidate will deliver engaging Physical Education lessons, with the ability to teach VCE Physical Education highly regarded, while leading a high-performance pathway that supports student-athletes to balance elite sport and academic achievement.

It requires a confident leader who can drive program development, build external partnerships, and contribute to a culture where performance, wellbeing, and character are equally valued. The role suits an educator who understands the demands of high-performance environments within a school setting and can lead with clarity, structure, and purpose.
