About the Position
This leadership opportunity is suited to an educator passionate about sport, student development, and building high-performing programs. The Sports Academy Leader will drive the growth and development of the school’s Sports Academy program while leading a strong culture of participation across interschool sport, carnivals, and extracurricular opportunities. The role combines strategic leadership, program development, coaching oversight, student engagement, and community partnerships, making it ideal for a teacher or sports leader looking to make a significant whole-school impact.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Sports Academy program across Years 7–12, fostering participation, performance, and student engagement.
- Coordinate interschool sport, carnivals, training schedules, and external sporting partnerships.
- Mentor sports staff, trainees, and coaches while supporting best practice in sports education and student development.
- Promote the Sports Academy within the wider community, including student recruitment and event engagement.
- Ensure effective organisation, risk management, safety compliance, and strategic planning across all sporting programs.
Requirements
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
