About the Position
The school is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Design & Materials Technology Teacher to join their team in a full-time, ongoing role beginning in Term 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach woodwork, metalwork, and general design technology subjects across the secondary years. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for practical learning and a commitment to student engagement.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, safe, and curriculum-aligned lessons in woodwork, metalwork, and materials technology

  • Manage workshop spaces with a focus on student safety and equipment care

  • Support students in developing hands-on skills and design thinking

  • Work collaboratively with faculty to enhance practical learning programs

  • Promote vocational and technology pathways within the school

Requirements
  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain VIT Registration

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
