Science Teacher

HARKE has partnered with a government secondary school in Melbourne’s south-east that is seeking a Science Teacher for the 2027 academic year. The school provides a structured and supportive learning environment, with a strong focus on student engagement, academic progress and positive relationships. This opportunity would suit a teacher looking to join an established secondary team and contribute to Science education within a collaborative government school setting.

This full-time position will commence in Term 1, 2027 and involves teaching Science across the secondary years. The successful teacher will be confident delivering engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons and supporting students with a range of learning needs and abilities. Teachers with experience across general Science, Biology, Chemistry or Physics are encouraged to apply.

• Deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned Science lessons across secondary year levels.

• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and classroom management.

• Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues.

• Collaborate with the Science faculty on curriculum planning, assessment and student outcomes.

• Demonstrate strong classroom leadership and contribute positively to the wider school community.

• Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain VIT registration.

• Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential.

• Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
