The Science Teacher position This school is currently seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to cover a current members long term sick leave for Years 7 to 10. This position will commence at the start of Term 1 until mid-year, with the possibility of extension or permanency. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching science to young learners, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for the subject. Responsibilities will include delivering engaging lessons, designing curriculum materials, and assessing student progress. The ideal candidate will possess relevant qualifications, experience teaching science at the secondary level, and a commitment to providing high-quality education. This temporary opportunity offers a rewarding experience within a supportive and collaborative school environment. Skills and Requirements
  • A deep understanding of the Australian Curriculum, particularly in Science for Years 7-10.
  • Proficiency in utilising modern teaching methodologies and technology to enhance science education.
  • Ability to create and maintain a stimulating learning environment that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues in the school community.
  • NESA registration or the ability to be registered by the beginning of Term 1 (conditionally registered NESA applications will also be considered).
  • Provide two references from recent employment experiences.
  • Possess unrestricted work rights in Australia, as the school cannot sponsor candidates for work visas.
