School Psychologist – Junior School Salary Range: $100,000–$120,000 plus super (pro rata to 0.7 FTE or 0.6 FTE) Type of School: Independent School in Eastern Melbourne Contract Type: Permanent, 3 days per week (0.7 FTE) Start: Term 2 (negotiable)

About the Position This part-time role involves working as the Junior School Psychologist (P–6), supporting the day-to-day wellbeing of students through a triage model in conjunction with the Senior School Psychologist. The successful candidate will provide short-term, early intervention support to students requiring assistance, while being adaptable to changing needs. This is a non-classroom-based role, and the Psychologist will be part of a wider, well-established wellbeing team including the Head of Wellbeing, Lead Teachers, and Heads of Junior and Senior School.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Provide responsive, student-focused psychological support in a daily triage model.

  • Maintain safeguarding and duty of care standards in all aspects of wellbeing.

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families to provide guidance and referrals.

  • Collaborate across a multidisciplinary team to strengthen whole-school wellbeing.

  • Contribute to a proactive, preventative approach to mental health in a school setting.

Requirements
  • Registration: Full AHPRA registration as a Psychologist is essential.

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
