About the School
HARKE has partnered with an independent Islamic school in South-Western Sydney seeking a Primary Teacher for the 2027 school year. The school provides a values-based education within an Islamic learning environment, with faith, academic development and student wellbeing forming important parts of school life. Teachers have the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative Primary team while building strong relationships with students and families within the wider school community.
About the Position
This full-time position will commence in Term 1, 2027 on an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension beyond the 2027 school year. The school is open to Primary Teachers across all year levels, providing flexibility around the final class allocation based on the successful teacher's experience and strengths.
The position would suit a qualified Primary Teacher who can create a structured and engaging classroom environment, differentiate learning for students with varying needs and contribute positively to the school's Islamic ethos and wider community. Teachers with experience across any Primary year level are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Primary lessons aligned with NSW curriculum requirements and appropriate to the allocated year level.
- Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and classroom practice, creating a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Communicate clearly with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, progress, wellbeing and classroom expectations.
- Collaborate with Primary colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, differentiation and wider school activities.
- Provide clear classroom leadership, establish consistent expectations and support students to make academic and personal progress.
Requirements
Primary Teaching: Candidates must be suitably qualified to teach within the Primary years. The school is open to teachers with experience across all Primary year levels.
Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain accreditation with NESA.
Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential for this role.
Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE's onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
