HARKE has partnered with a government primary school in regional Victoria seeking a capable and confident teacher to join its team for the remainder of the 2026 school year. The school values positive relationships, consistency and strong classroom practice, with staff working collaboratively to support students with a range of learning, wellbeing and behavioural needs.

About the Role

This Primary Teacher position is available for an immediate start through to the end of the 2026 school year. Rather than a traditional interview process, the successful candidate will initially complete CRT shifts with the school, providing an opportunity for both the teacher and school to assess suitability before progressing into the fixed-term position. The school is particularly interested in a teacher who brings confidence with classroom management, can establish clear expectations and is comfortable supporting students with more complex behaviours.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned Primary lessons that support literacy, numeracy and broader student development.

• Maintain high standards of student safeguarding and wellbeing while confidently supporting a range of behavioural and learning needs.

• Establish clear classroom routines and expectations to create a calm, consistent and positive learning environment.

• Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, wellbeing and student progress.

• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support individual students and contribute positively to the broader school community.

Requirements

• Current VIT registration

• Relevant Primary teaching qualifications

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills

• Confidence working with students who may present with complex or challenging behaviours

• Full Australian working rights

• Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
