About the Position

This full-time position involves teaching a middle-primary classroom with small student numbers and extensive support from both school leadership and experienced remote educators. The school follows an explicit teaching model with a strong focus on literacy and numeracy, while individual learning programs support student engagement, attendance, and academic growth. This opportunity would suit an educator seeking a meaningful teaching experience, whether as a first remote appointment or as part of an ongoing commitment to remote and Indigenous education.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging literacy and numeracy programs aligned with curriculum requirements and explicit teaching practices.
  • Develop and implement individual learning programs to support student growth and engagement.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families and community members to strengthen educational outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student wellbeing.
  • Collaborate closely with school leadership and colleagues to support attendance, engagement and whole-school initiatives.

Employment Package

  • WA Department of Education salary from $88,178–$127,737 depending on experience.
  • Remote Teaching Service Allowance of $20,870 per annum.
  • District Allowance of $3,210 per annum.
  • Temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $3,000.
  • 12% employer superannuation contribution.
  • Free secure two-bedroom accommodation.
  • Travel support at the commencement and completion of the contract.
  • Pets permitted and personal vehicle welcome.

Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain registration with the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA).
  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
