About the Position

This is a unique opportunity for a generalist primary teacher to step into a full-time teaching load made up of part-time classroom teaching and part-time leadership release coverage. You will work across Prep to Year 6, covering classes as needed to support executive and leadership staff.

To thrive in this role, you’ll need to be adaptable, relational, and calm under pressure—able to shift between year levels and teaching teams, support various classroom routines, and build quick rapport with both students and staff.

It’s a role suited to someone who enjoys variety, works well in dynamic environments, and sees themselves as a key support for both colleagues and learners.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons across P–6 as needed

• Provide consistent, high-quality teaching in both short-term classroom and release-cover settings

• Collaborate effectively with various staff, including school leaders

• Build positive relationships with students and model calm, confident classroom management

• Bring flexibility, initiative, and professionalism to a dynamic teaching role

Requirements

• Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)

• Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role

• Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process

• Faith Requirement: None, teachers of all backgrounds welcome however modest dress required; female staff to wear a headscarf in accordance with school expectations
