Prep/Transition Teacher | Remote Central NT | Full Time (Flexible Contract Options)

Salary:$94,000–$131,000 plus super

About the School
HARKE is partnering with a small government school approximately 400km west of Alice Springs. The school services students from Prep to Year 10, with a strong focus on early years education through play-based and developmentally aligned teaching. The student cohort is 100% Indigenous, and the school is deeply connected to local culture and community.

About the Position
The school is seeking an Early Childhood-trained Prep/Transition Teacher to join their close-knit team. This role is suited to a passionate, flexible educator with a deep respect for culture and a child-led learning approach. While an immediate start is preferred, the school is open to a September start, as well as short-term contracts(e.g. one term) for the right candidate.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver play-based and developmentally aligned lessons in early years

  • Foster a culturally safe and inclusive learning environment

  • Collaborate with the small teaching team and Aboriginal educators

  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in a remote school context

  • Engage respectfully with the local community and culture

Additional Information

  • Staffing: Currently 3 staff on-site

  • Housing: Shared staff housing available (bathroom and kitchen shared)

  • Travel: 5 hours from Alice Springs (150km unsealed road)

Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain NT Teacher Registration

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
