About the Position
This 0.4 FTE position commencing in Term 3, 2026 involves teaching Primary Physical Education and Health across Prep to Year 6. The program is delivered through the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP), combining inquiry-based learning with explicit skill development to promote lifelong health, fitness and physical competence.
Students engage in a transdisciplinary curriculum that connects physical health and wellbeing to broader concepts of identity, relationships and community. The program aligns with the Victorian Curriculum F-10 and focuses on developing fundamental movement skills, teamwork, game strategies, resilience and healthy lifestyles. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team dedicated to fostering positive participation, confidence and enjoyment in physical activity.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Primary Physical Education and Health programs aligned with the IB PYP and Victorian Curriculum.
- Promote student wellbeing, safety and positive participation in all learning environments.
- Foster effective communication with students, families and colleagues to support student development.
- Collaborate with staff to contribute to curriculum planning, co-curricular activities and whole-school initiatives.
- Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management while creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- Registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Full Australian work rights.
- Two professional referees.
- Completion of HARKE onboarding and safeguarding requirements.
