About the Role

This full-time, ongoing role involves a 60% Physical Education teaching load across Years 7 and 8, alongside English classes in Years 9 and 10. The successful teacher will join a collaborative team focused on creating engaging and supportive learning experiences. The English component includes the study of dystopian fiction, narrative analysis, and preparation for senior pathways, with Year 10 classes supporting pre-VCE development. The role would suit an educator who can foster student participation, confidence, and academic growth across both practical and classroom-based settings.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging Physical Education and English programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum
  • Support student wellbeing, participation, and positive classroom culture across practical and academic environments
  • Develop literacy, critical thinking, and analytical skills through contemporary English studies including dystopian fiction and narrative analysis
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and whole-school initiatives
  • Participate in interschool sport programs and broader co-curricular opportunities that enhance student engagement

Requirements

  • Current or eligibility for VIT registration
  • Full Australian working rights
  • Ability to teach Years 7-8 Physical Education and Years 9-10 English
  • Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding
