About the Position
This full-time, ongoing leadership opportunity, commencing in Term 3, 2025, will see the successful candidate take on the role of Head of PDHPE (Years 7–12). Overseeing a team of 7–8 educators, the Head of Department will be responsible for leading curriculum planning, pedagogy, and assessment practices across the secondary PDHPE program.
The teaching load is yet to be finalised, but it is likely to include a focus on senior classes. However, this is negotiable based on the strengths and preferences of the successful applicant.
Skills and Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of 7–8 PDHPE teachers across Years 7–12.

Provide curriculum leadership and drive best practice in teaching and learning.

Foster a positive, high-performance team culture that supports both staff and students.

Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic planning related to health and physical education.

Mentor early career teachers and support ongoing staff development.

Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to support student wellbeing and engagement.
Requirements
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain NESA Accreditation.
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
