HARKE Recruitment has partnered with a unique independent school located on the outskirts of East Melbourne, approximately 60 kms from Melbourne CBD. This school is dedicated to providing a holistic education for girls in Years 7–12, integrating academic learning with cultural identity and wellbeing. This full-time, ongoing position involves teaching Mathematics and STEM subjects to students in Years 7–12. The successful candidate will design and deliver engaging, culturally responsive lessons that enhance students' mathematical literacy, problem-solving skills, and understanding of STEM disciplines. Collaborating closely with the Head of Teaching and Learning and other staff members, the teacher will contribute to a curriculum that aligns with the ACARA and VCE VM frameworks, while also supporting the school's integrated Education, Culture, and Wellbeing model.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching Aboriginal students and additional desirable attributes include holding a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, completion of Indigenous Cultural Awareness Training, and experience working with Aboriginal communities. A strong understanding of the diversity of Aboriginal cultures and the issues impacting these communities is also highly regarded.
Skills & Requirements :

Develop and deliver curriculum-aligned Mathematics and STEM lessons for Years 7–12, ensuring students achieve academic success and a strong understanding of key concepts.

Ensure the safety and well-being of students by adhering to safeguarding policies and practices, maintaining a secure and supportive learning environment.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering strong relationships and a collaborative school community.

Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the educational experience and support school initiatives, contributing to a cohesive and innovative teaching team.

Demonstrate leadership in the classroom, inspiring and motivating students to engage with Mathematics and STEM subjects.

Valid Teacher Registration in Victoria (or eligibility for registration).

- Current First Aid certificate and Anaphylaxis Awareness training (or willingness to obtain).
