About the PositionThe school is seeking a Maths + Science Leader to join the secondary team for an immediate start. This middle leadership role combines Head of Department responsibilities with a reduced secondary teaching load, currently aligned to Year 12 General Maths and Year 12 Chemistry . The successful candidate will guide a diverse and relatively young team across Maths and Science (approximately nine staff ), building confidence in curriculum delivery, supporting quality planning, and leading the rollout of the new curriculum through practical, consultative leadership.
Skills and Responsibilities-
Deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons in Year 12 Chemistry and Year 12 General Maths.

Maintain strong safeguarding and student welfare practice, aligned with policy and duty of care expectations.

Communicate clearly with staff, students, and families to support learning progress and consistent expectations.

Collaborate with secondary leadership and teaching teams to strengthen planning, assessment, and shared practice.

Provide calm, capability-building leadership that supports teacher confidence, consistency, and curriculum improvement.
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain VIT registration.
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
