About the Position

This role involves teaching VCE Legal Studies within the secondary school commencing Term 3 2026. The successful teacher will deliver engaging and contemporary Legal Studies lessons across the VCE program while supporting students to develop a strong understanding of the Victorian and Australian legal systems. The program incorporates practical learning opportunities, including excursions and real-world application of legal concepts, helping students connect classroom learning with broader civic understanding and critical thinking skills.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging VCE Legal Studies lessons aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCAA requirements
  • Support student wellbeing and maintain strong safeguarding practices within the classroom environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding academic progress and learning outcomes
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum resources, assessment tasks and best practice teaching strategies
  • Contribute positively to the wider school community, including co-curricular and faculty initiatives

Requirements

Registration: Must hold or be eligible for VIT teacher registration

Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia

Safeguarding: Ability to provide referees and complete safeguarding requirements
