About the Position
The Learning Leader – Languages is responsible for leading the Languages Learning Area across Years 7–12. This POL 2.5 position balances teaching with leadership duties and requires a focus on curriculum rigour, innovative pedagogy, and staff support. Reporting directly to the Vice Principal – Learning & Teaching, the role provides strategic and day-to-day leadership of the Languages faculty.

Skills and Responsibilities

• Lead curriculum innovation across Languages, ensuring alignment with VCAA standards.

• Mentor colleagues and promote consistent, high-quality teaching practice.

• Oversee assessment and reporting across the Learning Area.

• Use student performance data to guide program improvements.

• Foster a culture of collaboration and learning across the Languages team.

Requirements

• Registration: Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or eligibility.

• Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia.

• Safeguarding: Two current referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding process.
