About the Position
The Learning Leader – Commerce provides leadership in curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment within the Commerce Learning Area. As a POL 2.5 role, this position combines classroom teaching with leadership responsibilities. Reporting to the Vice Principal – Learning & Teaching, the Learning Leader works closely with colleagues to ensure student engagement and achievement across Years 7–12.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum development and innovation across Commerce subjects.

  • Oversee assessment, reporting, and program evaluation in the Learning Area.

  • Support teacher growth through mentoring, coaching, and collaboration.

  • Use student data to inform teaching practice and improve outcomes.

  • Embed the College’s Learning and Teaching Framework into daily practice.

Requirements

  • Registration: Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration or eligibility.

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia.

  • Safeguarding: Two current referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding process.
