About the Position
This full-time leadership position commences at the start of Term 1, 2026. As the Learning Development Leader (POL 3), you will provide strategic leadership in learning and teaching across the College, supporting staff to strengthen academic outcomes, foster innovation, and enhance professional practice in alignment with the school’s Catholic mission and values.
This position carries a time allowance of 11 x 60-minute periods per 10-day cycle, with POL tenure of 3 years and an accompanying ongoing teaching role.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership

Promote the College’s Catholic ethos and contribute to a faith-based learning community

Participate in coaching and leadership development programs to build capacity

Support teachers in setting and achieving professional growth goals
Learning & Teaching

Lead best practice in teaching and learning, fostering a strong academic culture

Oversee curriculum delivery to ensure learning is engaging, relevant, and personalised

Use data and research to inform pedagogy and drive improvement

Coach and mentor staff, particularly Domain Leaders, to strengthen teaching practice

Support the integration of ICT and digital tools to enhance student engagement

Lead initiatives in literacy, numeracy, assessment, and reporting
Curriculum Development

Ensure Years 7–12 curriculum meets VCAA requirements (Victorian Curriculum, VCE, VCAL, VET)

Maintain a comprehensive and balanced curriculum with depth, breadth, and progression

Drive curriculum review and innovation to ensure relevance and quality
Administration

Manage assessment timelines, booklists, study planners, and reporting systems

Oversee learning modules, course selection, and analysis of student performance data

Administer domain budgets and support efficient academic operations
Requirements

Current or eligibility for VIT registration

Proven experience in curriculum leadership and staff development

Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and assessment practices

Full Australian working rights

Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding
