About the Position
This 12-month leadership role involves coordinating and delivering a comprehensive Health and Physical Education program across Kindergarten to Year 6. The position includes a teaching load alongside a leadership allocation, with responsibility for program design, staff coordination, and co-curricular sport. The successful candidate will lead a structured and engaging HPE program, ensuring students develop skills, confidence, and a strong understanding of physical wellbeing within a supportive and high-performing environment.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver and oversee a sequential K–6 HPE curriculum aligned with the Australian Curriculum, ensuring consistent and high-quality teaching and learning
- Ensure student safety, wellbeing, and adherence to safeguarding and child safety standards across all physical education and sporting activities
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families, supporting a positive and inclusive school culture
- Collaborate with teaching staff and leadership to coordinate sport programs, events, and co-curricular activities including carnivals and clubs
- Demonstrate leadership through staff mentoring, program development, and coordination of resources, events, and student leadership initiatives
Requirements
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain VIT registration
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
