About the Position
This fixed-term opportunity for Term 1, 2026 involves teaching Italian to secondary students across junior and/or middle years (specific year levels confirmed with the successful candidate). The role suits a teacher who can deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned language lessons, build confidence in student communication skills, and contribute to a positive, orderly classroom environment. The successful candidate will join a supportive Languages team and contribute to co-curricular or cultural learning opportunities where relevant.
Skills and Responsibilities

Deliver Italian lessons aligned to the Victorian Curriculum, using varied strategies to support language acquisition and student engagement.

Maintain a safe and supportive classroom, implementing the school’s safeguarding, wellbeing, and behaviour expectations.

Communicate clearly with students, families, and colleagues to support learning progress and positive relationships.

Collaborate with the Languages faculty to plan, assess, and moderate student learning, contributing to shared resources and improvement.

Demonstrate professional responsibility through preparation, feedback, reporting, and participation in school community activities.
Requirements

Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
