The school is seeking a committed Indigenous Education Teacher to join their Middle School team from Term 3, 2025. This full-time, ongoing position will see the successful applicant teach a dedicated Year 9 class of Indigenous students, delivering core Literacy and Numeracy through culturally responsive approaches. The role is well suited to a Primary-trained teacher due to the learning level of the students, and experience working with First Nations learners is essential.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Culturally Responsive Practice – Deliver high-quality learning that reflects students’ cultural identities, languages, and worldviews
- Student Support – Collaborate with Aboriginal team teachers, boarding staff, and wellbeing teams
- Engagement – Build trusting, respectful relationships with students, families, and communities
- Team Collaboration – Contribute to blended learning materials and assessment within a whole-school structure
- Continuous Growth – Participate in professional development, trauma-informed practice, and inclusive pedagogy.
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain NT Teacher Registration
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role
- Safeguarding: Current Ochre Card (NT Working with Children Check)
- Additional: Cultural competence and a willingness to engage with the school’s Indigenous programs and community partnerships
