About the Position
This full-time, ongoing position primarily involves teaching Humanities across Years 7–10, with flexibility for candidates who would also like to teach at VCE level. The school is equally open to educators who prefer to focus on junior secondary Humanities. The position can commence in either Term 4, 2026 or Term 1, 2027, providing flexibility around the successful candidate's availability.
The successful candidate may be eligible for a $10,000 school-based incentive, subject to meeting the relevant selection criteria associated with the government incentive program. Potential relocation support may also be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Curriculum: Deliver engaging Humanities programs across Years 7–10, with the opportunity to teach VCE where appropriate.
- Safeguarding: Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment focused on student wellbeing.
- Communication: Build positive relationships with students, families and the wider school community.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to plan curriculum, assessment and engaging learning experiences.
- Leadership: Demonstrate initiative and contribute positively to the broader academic and extracurricular life of the school.
Requirements
- Registration: Hold current VIT registration or be eligible to obtain registration.
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are required.
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current professional referees and complete HARKE's safeguarding and onboarding requirements.
- Eligibility for the $10,000 incentive will be subject to the applicable selection criteria.
