About the Position
This full-time contract position, commencing in Term 2, 2025, involves teaching Humanities across Years 7 to 10. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating dynamic, inquiry-based lessons that develop students’ critical thinking, understanding of the world, and historical and geographical knowledge. The role is ideal for a passionate educator who enjoys interdisciplinary teaching and is committed to making learning relevant and engaging for early secondary students. Both experienced teachers and those newer to the profession are encouraged to apply.
Skills and Responsibilities

Plan and deliver curriculum-aligned Humanities lessons across Years 7–10.

Support the safety and wellbeing of all students, fostering an inclusive and respectful classroom culture.

Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student progress and support.

Collaborate with staff to enhance learning outcomes and contribute to whole-school programs.

Demonstrate leadership through reflective practice, curriculum innovation, and student engagement strategies.
Requirements
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain QLD Teacher Registration.
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role.
- Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
