Female HPE Teacher (Secondary)
Salary Range: $80,000 – $120,500 + superType of School: Independent College in Northern Melbourne
Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
Start: Term 3, 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)
About the School
HARKE has partnered with an independent Islamic college in Melbourne’s north that is deeply committed to holistic education, student wellbeing, and community values. The school maintains a diverse teaching team and welcomes educators of all backgrounds who are respectful of the Islamic faith.
Staff are not required to be of Islamic faith themselves, though female staff are expected to dress modestly and wear a headscarf during school hours. The school provides a strong sense of belonging, grounded in care, connection, and purpose.
About the Position
This full-time HPE role is a long-awaited and essential position, and although it is a co-ed school, the school has never had a female physical education teacher to lead the program for its girls. The successful applicant will play a foundational role in delivering physical education in a way that is accessible, empowering, and aligned with student needs.
You’ll be working with a spirited and confident group of girls and respond best to educators who are calm, assertive, and genuinely invested in building trust and connection. You will need to bring a strong, positive presence, capable of setting boundaries while encouraging student voice and engagement.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who can lead with strength and compassion, and who is excited by the chance to shape and grow a program from the ground up.
