About the Position
This leadership role combines classroom teaching with strategic oversight of the English faculty across Years 7 to 12. The successful candidate will lead curriculum design, ensure alignment with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA requirements, and drive data-informed improvement across the department. The role includes responsibility for assessment quality assurance, moderation processes, and leading staff development, while working closely with senior leadership to strengthen whole-school literacy and teaching practice. A reduced teaching load and leadership allowance are provided to support the scope of the role.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and development of the English curriculum, ensuring alignment with Australian Curriculum and QCAA standards
- Uphold and embed safeguarding, academic integrity, and assessment compliance processes
- Communicate effectively with staff, students, parents, and leadership
- Foster collaboration across departments, including whole-school literacy initiatives
- Provide strong leadership through mentoring, coaching, and performance development of staff
Requirements
- Registration: Must hold or be eligible for QCT registration
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia
- Safeguarding: Provide two referees and complete compliance checks
- Must be a practising Christian and able to provide a pastoral reference
- Demonstrated experience in curriculum leadership, data analysis, and staff development
