Salary: $95,551 – $137,031 + $12,678 PAR Allowance

HARKE has partnered with a well-established independent school in Darwin seeking an experienced Health, PE, Outdoor Education and Sport educator to lead the Learning Area across Years 6–12.
This is an opportunity for a strong classroom practitioner to step into curriculum and faculty leadership while remaining connected to teaching. The successful applicant will lead curriculum development, support high-quality teaching and assessment, develop staff and strengthen student pathways and engagement across Health, PE, Outdoor Education and Sport.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum and learning pathways across Health, PE, Outdoor Education and Sport.
- Support contemporary, engaging and student-centred teaching across Years 6–12.
- Lead and develop faculty staff through planning, feedback and professional learning.
- Strengthen assessment, moderation and the use of student achievement data.
- Develop extracurricular opportunities and experiences that increase student engagement.
- Contribute to wider teaching and learning priorities across the school.
About You
The successful applicant will bring strong disciplinary knowledge across the Learning Area, sound curriculum and pedagogical expertise and the ability to lead colleagues collaboratively. Experience working with relevant senior secondary, VET or applied learning requirements will be highly regarded.

- Permanent full-time teaching position.
- Two-year leadership appointment as Learning Area Coordinator.
- Additional PAR allowance of $12,678 gross per annum, increasing to $13,224 from July 2027.

- Salary range of $95,551 – $137,031 gross per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements
- NT Teacher Registration or eligibility to obtain registration.
- Full Australian work rights.
- Relevant teaching qualifications.
- Relevant Health, PE, Outdoor Education and/or Sport teaching experience.
- Two professional referees and completion of HARKE safeguarding and onboarding requirements.
