HARKE has partnered with a well-established independent Years 7–12 school in Victoria’s Central Goldfields region, educating approximately 500 students. The school is focused on preparing students for life beyond school through flexible senior pathways including VCE, VCE Vocational Major, VET and School-Based Apprenticeships. About the Position

This leadership opportunity is suited to an educator who is passionate about supporting students through the final two years of secondary school. The Head of Year 11–12 will lead the wellbeing, connection and engagement of senior students while overseeing a team of mentors and acting as a key contact for families. The position also supports the administration, compliance and examination requirements associated with VCE and VET programs, working closely with senior learning leaders and VASS administration. The role includes 0.6 time release to undertake these responsibilities.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Lead student wellbeing, engagement and connection across Years 11 and 12, supporting students throughout their senior secondary pathway.

  • Lead and support a team of senior student mentors, providing direction, feedback and consistency across the year levels.

  • Build strong communication with students, families and staff, acting as a key point of contact throughout the VCE and VET years.

  • Support VCE and VET administration, compliance, examination provisions and relevant VCAA and VTAC processes.

  • Work collaboratively with senior leadership to maintain strong academic, wellbeing and safeguarding practices for senior students.

Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

  • Experience: Strong understanding of senior secondary student wellbeing, with demonstrated VCE/VET administration and/or leadership experience.

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, support and develop a team while building positive relationships with students and families.

  • Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential for this role.

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
