About the Role

This role is for someone with vision, persistence, and a passion for expanding access to opportunity. You will be the driving force behind a complete reinvention of vocational education within the college.

You’ll lead the development and implementation of VET pathways from Year 9 through to post-school transitions, including the VCE Vocational Major and Victorian Pathways Certificate. You will engage directly with students, parents, and staff, many of whom hold a view that VCE may be the only path to success.

You will be a natural communicator, capable of winning hearts and minds, presenting vocational education as not just a valid pathway, but a powerful, practical route to future success. This role requires someone who is relentless in their belief that every student deserves access to education that fits their strengths.

This would suit someone who has led a small team, developed VET programs, and is ready to step up into a broader leadership role. You'll have the space, support, and authority to build something meaningful, with the autonomy to make it happen.


Skills and Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead vocational pathways from Year 9–12, including VCE Vocational Major and VPC

  • Deliver a school-wide vocational vision with a focus on access, inclusion, and outcomes

  • Partner with RTOs, TAFEs, and community networks to build student pathways

  • Support and upskill staff to deliver quality VET courses (currently only Business is offered)

  • Work with students and families to reframe perceptions and champion diverse success stories

  • Drive engagement, enrolment, and achievement through practical, career-focused education


Requirements

  • Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)

  • Qualifications: Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)

  • Experience: Strong understanding of the VET sector in Victoria, ideally with experience leading VCE VM or similar programs

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role

  • Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process
