About the Position
This full-time, ongoing Head of Senior Primary role offers a leadership opportunity within the Years 3-6 division. The successful candidate will oversee academic programs, student well-being, and staff mentorship, ensuring a Christ-centred, engaging, and supportive learning environment. The role has a 0.1 fte teaching load, and it requires strong leadership in curriculum development, student welfare, and staff collaboration. This role will oversee 16 direct reports, all of which are Year 3-6 Classroom Teachers. Interviews will be taking place in person from the 12 April 2025.
Key Responsibilities include:- Pastoral care and leadership of staff, fostering a positive team culture
- Develop and implement student well-being initiatives tailored for Years 3-6
- Strengthen relationships with parents/carers to support student development
- Guide teachers in best-practice pedagogy and curriculum delivery
- Lead and oversee key programs, including transitions, excursions, and student leadership initiatives
Skills and Responsibilities
- Curriculum: Lead the planning and implementation of curriculum-aligned teaching and learning programs for Years 3-6, ensuring high standards of education.
- Safeguarding: Maintain a safe and supportive environment for students, adhering to child protection policies and Christian school values.
- Communication: Build and sustain strong relationships with staff, students, and parents to enhance student well-being and academic success.
- Collaboration: Work closely with school leadership, staff, and external professionals to support student learning and well-being.
- Leadership: Provide mentorship and guidance to the Years 3-6 teaching team, supporting their professional growth and development.
Requirements
- Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible for registration with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
- Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential.
- Faith Commitment: Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to Christian education and the school’s values.
