With a double-stream secondary program currently operating up to Year 10, the school offers tailored academic and pastoral pathways. Staff benefit from working within a collaborative leadership structure, including chaplaincy and counselling support, and a dedicated Head of Academic Pathways.

About the Position
The Head of Secondary will lead a team of approximately 12 staff and provide strategic and day-to-day oversight of the secondary school. This role plays a critical part in supporting academic development, pastoral care, and transition to senior secondary studies, including VCE. A 0.3–0.4 teaching load is included, and applicants are encouraged to advocate for their preferred teaching areas. The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with the capacity to nurture both staff and students in line with the school’s Christian ethos.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum and pastoral initiatives across Years 7–10, with oversight of future senior pathways.

  • Support students through trauma-informed practices, particularly those from refugee backgrounds.

  • Collaborate with the Head of Academic Pathways, chaplains, and counsellors to ensure cohesive support and direction.

  • Maintain effective communication with parents, staff, and leadership to build a strong and united school culture.

  • Teach 0.3–0.4 FTE and model excellence in classroom practice and student engagement.

 

Requirements
  • Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

  • Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
  • A committed Christian who is actively involved in a church community and able to support the school’s Statement of Faith in both teaching and leadership practice.
