About the Position
The school is seeking an experienced Humanities educator to lead a department of approximately 11 staff. The portfolio includes Humanities across Years 7–12, with subject areas including History, Business, Economics and Legal Studies.
This role combines classroom teaching with genuine curriculum and staff leadership responsibility.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Lead curriculum planning, delivery and assessment across the Humanities learning area.
- Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, welfare and inclusive practice.
- Communicate clear expectations and priorities to staff, students and school leadership.
- Develop staff capability through collaboration, feedback and shared curriculum practice.
- Lead departmental improvement, organisation and curriculum development across Years 7-12.
Requirements
- Registration with, or eligibility for registration with, the Teacher Registration Board of the Northern Territory.
- Demonstrated secondary Humanities teaching experience.
- Previous curriculum, faculty or departmental leadership experience.
- Full Australian work rights.
- Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding.
