About the Position
This middle leadership position involves leading the Science faculty across Stage 4 to Stage 6 while also teaching within the faculty. The Head of Science will guide curriculum planning, assessment and reporting while mentoring a team of four Science teachers. The role includes a leadership allowance and a teaching allocation within a 48 out of 60 period cycle per fortnight, inclusive of assemblies and chapel. The school is ideally seeking a Physics specialist for senior classes, though teachers with strengths in other senior Science areas are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will lead faculty strategy, analyse academic data to support improvement, and contribute to the broader academic and co-curricular life of the school.
Leadership Allowance & Salary
In accordance with the school’s Enterprise Agreement:
Step 2.3: $117,561
Step 2.5: $133,009
Step 2.5 + Accomplished Teacher Allowance: + $5,203 per annum
Skills and Responsibilities

Lead curriculum development and delivery across Stage 4 to Stage 6 Science in alignment with the NSW curriculum

Maintain strong safeguarding practices and ensure safe laboratory and classroom environments

Communicate clearly with staff, students and families regarding academic progress and faculty initiatives

Collaborate with executive leadership and mentor faculty staff to support professional growth

Provide leadership across the Science faculty including data analysis, faculty meetings and academic planning
