About the Position
The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Head of English to lead their English faculty. This is a permanent, full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2026. The role will involve overseeing Years 7–12 English programs, mentoring team members, and contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives. The successful candidate will bring strong curriculum knowledge, leadership capability, and a commitment to student achievement.


Skills and Responsibilities
– Lead a team of English teachers across Years 7–12
– Oversee curriculum design, implementation, and assessment practices
– Provide mentoring and support to junior staff
– Drive whole-school literacy strategies and initiatives
– Contribute to leadership discussions and strategic planning


Requirements
Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain VIT Registration
Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential for this role
Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE’s onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements
