About the Role
This position involves teaching Food Technology and Food Studies across secondary year levels, including practical and theory-based classes. The role will suit a teacher who is passionate about food education, healthy living and engaging students through practical learning experiences. Programs include junior food studies, Year 10 food masterclasses and senior VCE Food Studies, with opportunities to contribute to practical cooking programs, menu planning activities and broader community initiatives focused on wellbeing and healthy eating.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Food Technology and Food Studies programs aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and VCE requirements
- Support student wellbeing and maintain safe, organised practical kitchen environments
- Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning progress and engagement
- Collaborate with colleagues to strengthen practical learning opportunities and curriculum delivery
- Contribute positively to faculty initiatives, community programs and co-curricular activities
Requirements
- Registration with or eligibility for VIT
- Full Australian work rights
- Two referees and completion of HARKE onboarding for safeguarding
