About the Position
The school is seeking a Food Technology / Science Teacher for 2027.
The successful teacher will use practical investigation, experimentation, design and real-world contexts to engage students across Food Technology and Science. The school is looking for an educator who can facilitate learning rather than rely solely on traditional teacher-led instruction and who is comfortable giving students greater ownership of their learning.
Alignment with the school’s progressive pedagogy will be a key consideration at interview.
Skills & Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Food Technology and Science curriculum through practical, inquiry and project-based learning.

Maintain high standards of student safety, safeguarding, wellbeing and safe practice within practical learning environments.

Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, progress and wellbeing.

Requirements to Apply

Relevant teaching qualification with suitable Food Technology and/or Science teaching methods.

Registration with or eligibility for the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).

Full Australian work rights.

Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s onboarding and safeguarding requirements.
