HARKE has partnered with a school in South-Western Sydney seeking an English Teacher to join its secondary teaching team. The school places a strong focus on academic progress, student wellbeing and positive relationships across the school community. This ongoing position provides an opportunity for a teacher to establish themselves within the school and contribute to the continued development of its English program.

About the Position

This full-time, ongoing position will involve teaching English across Years 7–11, commencing in Term 4, 2026. The school is looking to conduct interviews as soon as possible and is seeking a qualified English teacher who can confidently deliver both junior and senior secondary curriculum. The role would suit a teacher with strong subject knowledge, clear classroom expectations and the ability to develop students' writing, literacy, analytical and communication skills.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Years 7–11 aligned with NSW curriculum requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and classroom practice.
  • Communicate clearly with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.
  • Collaborate with English colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment, moderation and teaching programs.
  • Provide clear classroom leadership and support students to develop their literacy, writing and analytical skills.

Requirements

English Teaching: Candidates must be suitably qualified and able to teach English across Years 7–11.

Registration: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain accreditation with NESA.

Work Rights: Full Australian working rights are essential for this role.

Safeguarding: Applicants must provide two current referees and complete HARKE's onboarding process to meet safeguarding requirements.
