About the Role

This full-time English Teacher position offers flexibility for the right candidate, with a Term 1, 2027 commencement preferred and the possibility of starting in Term 4, 2026. The school is currently finalising its 2027 timetable and can consider either an ongoing appointment or fixed-term contract depending on the successful candidate's experience, availability and preferences.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned English lessons that develop students' literacy, communication and critical thinking skills.

  • Maintain high standards of student safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice.

  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues regarding learning, assessment and student progress.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning, shared practice and consistent learning outcomes.

  • Contribute positively to faculty priorities, professional learning and the broader school community.

Requirements

  • Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

  • Relevant teaching qualifications with the ability to teach English

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Commitment to student wellbeing, professional collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Two professional referees and completion of HARKE's safeguarding onboarding
