HARKE Recruitment is partnering with an independent Uniting Church school in Brisbane’s northern suburbs to appoint an English Teacher for Semester 2, 2025. This co-educational Prep–12 college is known for its inclusive Christian ethos, strong community ties, and commitment to nurturing the whole student—academically, spiritually, and socially. About the Role

This is a full-time English position teaching Years 7–11 for the remainder of the 2025 academic year, from Monday 14 July to Tuesday 2 December. The teaching load includes General English for Years 10 and 11, core English for Year 9, and a junior English class in either Year 7 or 8. Lessons run in 45-minute blocks, with a total of 9–10 lessons per fortnight per year level.

The role also includes participation in the school’s pastoral and co-curricular programs, including Home Group, Chapel and Assembly, and weekly Sport. You'll also take part in a weekly wellbeing or enrichment session as part of the school’s whole-student approach. Timetables are finalised prior to the start of Term 3.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified to teach English across Years 7–12, with experience in Senior English preferred

  • Proficient in delivering the Australian Curriculum and QCAA Senior English syllabus

  • Holds current QCT registration and full Australian working rights
