About the Position
This full-time position commencing Term 3, 2026 is a family leave replacement role teaching English and Humanities across Years 7–12. The Humanities load is focused on junior and middle years, including Business Management, Legal Studies, and History, with no requirement to teach senior Geography or Economics. The successful teacher will deliver engaging and structured programs, demonstrate strong classroom management, and effectively support student engagement and behaviour. The school is seeking a locally based educator who understands the Australian classroom context and can contribute immediately to a consistent and high-performing learning environment.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver curriculum-aligned English and Humanities programs across Years 7–12, with a focus on junior to middle years subjects
- Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment, prioritising student wellbeing and effective behaviour management
- Communicate clearly with students, families, and colleagues to support engagement and progress
- Collaborate with faculty members to plan, assess, and refine teaching and learning practices
- Demonstrate strong classroom leadership, using engaging strategies to maintain student focus and participation
Requirements
- Registration with or eligibility for VIT
- Full Australian work rights
- Candidates must be currently based in Australia and available for in-person interview
- Two referees and completion of HARKE onboarding for safeguarding
