About the Position
The school is seeking a fixed-term English teacher to commence as soon as possible. The role will primarily involve teaching Years 7-10 English, with EAL experience or willingness to teach EAL viewed favourably.
While not essential, the ability to teach a VCE English class would be highly regarded to support potential senior secondary coverage requirements.
This role suits a collaborative and adaptable educator who can build positive classroom environments while supporting literacy growth and student engagement across junior secondary year levels.
Skills and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging English lessons across Years 7-10 aligned to the Victorian Curriculum
- Support diverse learners through differentiated teaching strategies and structured classroom routines
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Contribute to faculty collaboration, professional learning, and broader school initiatives
Requirements
- Registration with or eligibility for the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
- Full Australian work rights
- Experience teaching secondary English
- EAL experience viewed favourably
- VCE English capability advantageous but not essential
- Two referees and completion of HARKE onboarding requirements for safeguarding
