About the Position

The school is seeking a full-time English and Humanities Teacher for an ongoing position commencing in Term 4, 2026. The teaching load will include English and Humanities, with a particular need for a teacher who can deliver VCE Legal Studies.

The successful teacher will also teach some Religious Education as part of their load. Previous Religious Education experience or accreditation is not required, but candidates must be open to teaching the subject and supporting the Catholic ethos of the College.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging English and Humanities programs, including VCE Legal Studies

  • Teach Religious Education as part of the broader teaching load, with support where required

  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, student wellbeing and inclusive classroom practice

  • Communicate effectively with students, families and colleagues

  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community

Requirements

  • Current VIT registration or eligibility for registration

  • Relevant secondary teaching qualifications

  • Ability to teach English and Humanities, including VCE Legal Studies

  • Willingness to teach Religious Education, with no previous RE accreditation or experience required

  • Willingness to support the Catholic values and ethos of the College

  • Full Australian working rights

  • Two professional referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding process
