About the Position
The school is seeking a passionate and skilled EAL/D Teacher to join the team from Term 1, 2026. This role is central to supporting students who are developing proficiency in English while maintaining and valuing their cultural and linguistic backgrounds. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and delivering targeted EAL/D programs, collaborating with classroom teachers, and ensuring equitable access to learning across the curriculum.

This position is available as either a permanent placement or a 12-month contract. Early-career and experienced teachers are encouraged to apply, with comprehensive induction and ongoing professional development provided.

Generous relocation support is offered for individuals or families, including:

  • Car uplift and transport of belongings (15m³ or 30m³)

  • Relocation allowance of up to 15 fortnights (single or family)

  • $2,500 retention bonus after the first 12 months

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess EAL/D programs that support students’ English language development and literacy skills

  • Use EAL/D pedagogy and frameworks to scaffold learning across subject areas

  • Differentiate instruction for students with varying levels of English proficiency

  • Work closely with classroom teachers to embed EAL/D strategies in all learning areas

  • Build strong relationships with families and community to support cultural inclusion and student success

Requirements

  • Registration: Eligible for NT Teacher Registration Board accreditation

  • Work Rights: Full working rights in Australia are essential

  • Safeguarding: Two current referees and completion of HARKE’s safeguarding onboarding process are required
