About the Role

Commencing January 2026, this full-time position leads curriculum design, alignment, implementation, and evaluation across Years 7–9. The Director works closely with senior leaders to drive improvement in teaching practice, oversee key academic programs, and ensure curriculum offerings reflect current research and emerging educational paradigms. The role plays a critical part in shaping high-quality learning experiences across the Middle School.


Skills and Responsibilities
  • Review curriculum offerings to ensure alignment with emerging paradigms, best practice and research-based developments

  • Lead the development, documentation and accessibility of Years 7–9 curriculum, including subject selection processes and timelines

  • Measure and report on new program outcomes, preparing recommendations for the Assistant Principal – Learning & Teaching

  • Oversee scheduling and communication for Year 9 examinations, academic reporting, Middle School Curriculum Handbook and Year 7–9 book lists

  • Initiate Academic Risk meetings, document outcomes and communicate actions to staff, families and students

  • Collaborate on alternative programs, reviewing effectiveness, pathways and reporting for students on modified learning plans

  • Monitor academic progress across Years 7–9, establish communication structures and address concerns with families and staff

  • Lead whole-school data improvement strategies, including NAPLAN and PAT testing oversight

  • Drive implementation of the Classroom Mastery program through modelling, coaching and staff support

  • Oversee the Year 7 Changemakers, Year 8 Justice Seekers and Year 9 Step Up to Senior School programs

  • Contribute to transition planning between Years 9–10 and collaborate with curriculum leaders across the College

  • Maintain fidelity to teaching and learning policies and ensure consistent implementation of agreed practice


Requirements
  • Registration with or eligibility for VIT
